Journey to the New Year: Meeting Our Goals

Categories: Leadership

ItalyRoadThe reality of the work world is that we have results for which we are responsible. We need to meet the needs of our clients, or we need to produce high quality products, or we need to offer the service we promised to offer. It is often about getting things done and crossing things off the list.

In reality, we meet our goals by instigating and creating disciplined practice–consistent behaviors—that will lead us down the path to meet our goals. We set the goal, and by deconstructing it, we can identify how to be present in our journey to that particular horizon. We begin with the end in mind and we are able to map out a path or plan. We do, eventually, arrive.

What are you putting in place right now to ensure that you will arrive at your destination, and who will help and support you along the way? We may indeed embark on the journey alone, but we never really arrive as a result of only our solo efforts. Many strangers, friends, colleagues and even enemies, are there along the path to propel us forward.
