Salons with Libby

Are you looking for something really special for your next group event or meeting? Do you have a small, extraordinary gathering that needs a move away from the typical off-site or retreat?

Libby creates a thoughtful, beautiful setting where the discussions are informal and provocative, introspective and collaborative, by engaging participants in an interactive salon experience. There might be writing. There might be poetry. Sometimes there’s music. There’s always inspiration!

Salons in History

A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation. These gatherings often consciously followed Horace’s definition of the aims of poetry, “either to please or to educate” (“aut delectare aut prodesse est”). Salons, commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries, were carried on until quite recently in urban settings.

Success Salons

Join Irish musician Owen Ó Súilleabháin and poet Libby Wagner for a Success Salon to explore Finding Your Own Voice, an elemental and transformational experience to unlock your creativity and innovative genius. Owen and Libby are reflective practitioners engaged in the collaborative process of helping people experience the freedom that comes from letting go of blocks to finding and embodying their own, true voices. What calls you to be courageous? Where can you find spaces for deep listening? Where will you go from here?

Consistently courting the Creative Edge of your work is the only way to differentiate yourself in the modern market if you want to accelerate top-line growth and participate in a global economy. Your organizational Creative Edge reverberates beyond innovation. Having a strategic vision isn’t enough: the people you rely on to define your future, no matter your industry, must move out of the realm of comfortable competence, through the state of acceptable innovation, and into the compelling Creative Edge.

I found the session with Owen and Libby inspiring and thought provoking.  I think the idea of connecting music,  stories and poetry with communication and self expression is excellent. I really enjoyed the way the session was facilitated,  it allowed you to escape and think,  yet have the opportunity to express thoughts and feelings with others in a safe environment.

Over the course of a very captivating evening, Owen and Libby got us all thinking and sharing about how we find ourselves living our lives through their novel approach of song and poetry, mixed with question. There was no right or wrong answer to the queries. They are both highly talented and charismatic performers so it was both very enjoyable and thought provoking. Through music and the spoken word, different parts of our being were accessed which helped us articulate our hopes and fears in a different way by coming at them from a more oblique angle. I think we, the participants, surprised ourselves by what we found ourselves sharing. It was a very supportive and trusting environment.

Owen and Libby’s unique blend of music, poetry, and conversation slows down time for a little while. It creates a space for deeper reflection upon our place in the world and the vision of who we want to be.

Having worked closely with Owen for the past five years, and recently having collaborated with Libby, I feel the work they are now embarking on together is sure to create a beautiful understanding of the way the power of the arts can transform individual and organizational life.
